This Lesson Plan (LP) guides students to practice their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills by learning about the U.S. holiday of Presidents' Day. Students identify principles of good leaders and work together to brainstorm ways to commemorate leaders in their schools or communities.

As a result of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • learn about Presidents' Day traditions in the U.S.
  • make connections between their own lives and how leaders are commemorated in the United States
